Alta Vista Simi Assisted Living One of our objectives is for you to feel at home, but secure as assistance is nearby. Our home is designed to have the feel of home, but be equipped to accommodate the changing needs which come with aging. Our home is coed and licensed for 6 residents, with 2 private rooms and 2 shared rooms. There are three bathrooms, three showers, two tubs. The rooms are cozy, yet spacious. This is a newer home, built in 2001, with high ceilings, ceiling fans and crown moldings in most of the rooms. The hallways are wide and easily accommodate walkers and wheelchairs. Our flooring is walker and wheelchair friendly with tile and hardwood throughout. There is wireless internet accessible throughout the home. All the bedrooms have televisions and cable access. We prepare three home cooked meals daily, served family style. Meal time is a good time to sit together and interact, read the paper, have a conversation, etc. We always have snacks available at our coffee and snack bar. We have activities as desired. They range from sitting and listening to music and watching TV to outings. Our services are customized to the individual’s abilities and desires. We have both ambulatory and non-ambulatory residents. We also have our hospice waiver. This waiver allows your loved one to stay in our home/their home even if they get ill. They will not have to move and readjust again. We provide all housekeeping services. We like our home to be clean, but comfortable as well. We do laundry as needed, often that is daily. We handle all the medications for our residents. This includes assisting them with taking their medications in the proper doses and at the proper times. We track the medications and order refills. We assist with incontinent issues and provide care as needed. Living here is like having your own personal concierge service. Some of the items we help with include: making arrangements for local transportation and ordering incontinent supplies. If your loved one needs one on one special care, we can help you arrange that. If your loved one needs home health care visits, we can help you with that. We have a podiatrist and a hairdresser who come to the house. Residents can choose whether or not to participate with these services. What Makes Us Special Our home is in the South Hills of Simi Valley, above Sycamore Park. We have views of the city from the side yard and views of the hills from the rear.

Tips for Evaluating Your Options
Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Seniorsite Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:
Tour the location:Â
Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.
Confirm the availability of required services:Â
Before you commit, make sure that the community offers all the services your senior needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.
Know the California regulations for living type:Â
Each state has its own laws and inspections processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the community(ies) you're considering.
