Portola Place #2 Portola Place is an assisted living facility that is located in beautiful San Mateo CA. Our facility is small and is located in a beautiful home on a quiet residential street. We are also close to Beresford Park and Garden Center, Hillsdale Mall, and the 25th Ave. shopping area. We here at Portola Place offer a homey atmosphere with many amenities. Our senior citizens can enjoy sitting outside on our deck or front porch; however, if they prefer they can sit together and socialize in the living room or simply watch TV. We do accept the elderly who may not quite qualify for independent living but need a slightly higher level of senior care. Residents have their own bedroom and bathroom. Our meals here at Portola Place are prepared in our own kitchen. We use fresh ingredients as much as is possible. We try to make their senior living experience as enjoyable as possible. Birthdays and holidays are celebrated, weekly game events are held, and the s taff arranges walks to the park or for the residents to go shopping on a regular basis. We pride our staff on being sensitive to the individual needs of each resident; those who have relatives that are not nearby receive more encouragement to exercise and to join other residents on outings. In addition, those residents may just need to sit and visit for a time. Our staff actually takes the concerns of relatives seriously and encourages open communication with our residents.
