Southern Cross Home Care Having a career in the home care industry has always been my calling. I was blessed with my daughter, Lindsay, who was born with Cerebral Palsy. Thirty-three years and 40 surgeries later, my mission has been to keep her safe and happy. I have been a caregiver, I have hired caregivers, and I have trained caregivers for years. For 25 years I have worked as a human resources manager. We may be a small company and we may be a newer company, however, we believe this is an added bonus. As president of Southern Cross Home Care, I will personally meet every client. I want to know what we can do to ensure our client’s safety and happiness and I will be involved making sure they and their caregivers are a perfect fit. I have also been blessed with an excellent office manager, Lori, and an excellent client service coordinator, Kelsey. Our hearts are huge and we will always be available 24 hours/7 days a week to address any questions or concerns you may have. Southern Cross Home Care – Caregiver Training and Orientation At Southern Cross Home Care, we believe it is imperative to provide extensive training to our caregivers. All caregivers are drug tested and background checked. We cover our handbook policies, client and caregiver safety, Alzheimer’s and dementia care, Hoyer lift and gait belt safety, and Lindsay (who has a degree in Behavioral Studies) trains on the importance of treating our clients with respect, dignity, being responsible and gaining trust. Our training and orientation is an eight hour course. Also, we require continuing education and have recently added Covid-19 training. We are so proud of our training room and invite clients and their families to visit us so we can show it off!
