Always Best Care of Louisville Always Best Care stands for quality, personal, compassionate home care. We maximize safety, comfort, dignity and independence for seniors and people with illnesses or disabilities, helping them avoid nursing homes for as long as possible. We strive to be the BEST – not the biggest. Always Best Care establishes and maintains a personal connection with our caregivers and clients; creating lasting matches wherever possible. We match caregivers to the client’s level of care, personalized care plan, personality, specific needs and interests. We try not to send someone different every day as some larger agencies do. And we do make replacements when necessary. We strive to make personal introductions when a substitute or new caregiver is scheduled and notify you in advance. We try never to send a caregiver to you “cold” as larger agencies do. We’ve built a core team of excellent caregivers who have been with us long-term, and we personally screen, hire and train additional, experienced caregivers constantly. (Some agencies have 200 clients and 400 or more caregivers on their roster. With that many people it is difficult to know each one personally or provide tailored services.) Our caregivers are of the highest quality We only hire experienced, compassionate caregivers. They are personality tested, drug tested, bonded, background checked, skills tested, taxes withheld, and covered by workers comp. (You would have to pay for all these items yourself if you hired a caregiver directly.) All caregivers must attend our intensive ABC policies and procedures training program and pass a skills test proving their abilities to provide the level of care to which they are assigned. We educate our caregivers to understand and assist with client’s special needs. They have FREE access to the home care industry’s #1 online training resource: The Institute for Professional Caregiver Education. We work with the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, Alzheimer’s Association, Hosparus, the MS Center, The MS Society, Parkinson’s Support Center and Stroke Association, and other organizations to understand the special needs of people with such conditions and share this information with clients and caregivers to personalize the care we provide. We focus on professionalism and quality Both owner-managers are Certified Senior Advisors (CSAs), qualified to advise/guide seniors and their families on a wide range of issues and resources to help them navigate the long-term care system. This is a FREE benefit to our clients! Caregivers & clients are visited on the job monthly by our R.N. Care Manager, to guide and coach caregivers, well as to get client feedback, replenish supplies, and to update the client’s care plan so that our services are adapted to a client’s changing needs. Our home care services evolve and adapt as clients’ needs change: ABC provides three levels of care from a few hours a day all the way up to 24/7 care, to fit clients’ needs. Services range from companionship, light housekeeping, meals, pet care, errands, transportation, medication reminders, bathing, grooming and dressing; all the way up to transferring, safety supervision, fall prevention, incontinence care, feeding, bed sore prevention and much more. We begin with a free in-home assessment and creation of an individualized care plan that tells the caregivers what to do for the client. Pricing is based on the client’s level of care and number of hours in a single block of time. The most accurate estimate is provided after the in-home assessment. This plan is kept up-to-date through our R.N. Care Manager’s monthly supervisory visits, and collaboration/communication between the caregiver, family, senior, and ABC management Free senior living navigation services. Should there be a time when a client no longer wishes to maintain their current home, ABC offers a free senior living navigation service to help them the best possible senior living community and avoid nursing homes for as long as possible! All we ask is that clients call us and not call the facilities themselves. Other services/discounts: We provide clients a free RX discount card good for savings of up to 65% at all major pharmacies. We also provide a discount on the Philips Lifeline auto alert and automated medication dispenser. If the client has long-term care insurance, ABC may be able to refer them to a third-party vendor that could help them avoid out-of-pocket costs and handle paperwork for regular reimbursement. In summary, our next step would be to meet in person with either or both client and family (or, if long-distance, by phone or Skype) to complete a no-obligation, free assessment which will be used to create a personalized care plan that gives caregivers their instructions. If you are ready to begin care, we would also decide upon a schedule, review our client agreement, responsible parties would sign it, and we would collect a refundable deposit. Then we can begin the careful matching process to find the right caregiver(s).
