Caring for People Services of Omaha John Walker started Caring for People Services of Omaha several years ago after losing his son, Thomas Layton Walker to cancer. During Thomas's battle with cancer, John watched his wife Virginia, care for their son day and night. The idea sprang from inside my heart, I needed to start a company that really takes care of people. Our motto is that our company always goes the extra mile for our clients. John believes it is very important, while evaluating a potential client, to speak to all family members involved to see where each loved one is coming from. Even in a difficult situation, where an elder may not want care provided for themselves, John introduces his employee as simply a companion, then slowly moves toward being in the home more often to fulfill each and every need that client may have. The foundation of John's company is based on the belief that every caregiver must provide the highest level of quality service to each and every client. When recruiting caregivers, John sets a very high standard with a rigorous interview process involving multiple interviews by a broad range of staff. John is a strong believer in taking good care of his employees. He offers an above average salary range, has created an outstanding bonus program, makes sure to celebrate each and every birthday, offers a 401K savings plan and paid vacation. No one comes close to our benefits, he says. It shows in my employees, because they provide excellent care and they love what they do. Agency Type: We are a full-service agency. Tips for Evaluating Your Options
Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Seniorsite Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:
Tour the location:
Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.
Confirm the availability of required services:
Before you commit, make sure that the community offers all the services your senior needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.
Know the California regulations for living type:
Each state has its own laws and inspections processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the community(ies) you're considering.
