Davis Home At Davis Home, concern and compassion are a way of life. With the dedication of our staff and the various programs and services we have to offer, Davis Home can assist individuals to live independently with our supervision through many stages of life. We serve individuals with varying needs and disabilities including dementia. We strive to offer a unique blend of security with independent living, privacy, as well as companionship and physical and social well being. Davis Home is committed to serving the needs of older adults who are no longer able to live at home but do not need nursing home level of care. We are a Vermont licensed Level III Residential Community Care Home accepting men, women and couples. As times change and the physical space between families grows, extended families are taking on greater importance. Davis Home endeavors to fill in that space by creating an environment that is safe, structured, supportive, warm, and as close to “home” as possible. Davis Home has an outstanding reputation among doctors, social workers, home care providers and other members of the community for offering superlative care and exceptional services. Davis Home is located in a residential section of Windsor, convenient to shopping and entertainment, restaurants, banks, churches, library, barbers and hair salons, dry cleaner, a pharmacy , art galleries, stores and gift shops. They are all just a short walk away. Davis Home accepts private pay, Vermont Medicaid including Assistive Community Care Services (ACCS) and Choices For Care also known as enhanced residential care (ERC) residents. Our Services General Care: In addition to high-quality care, safety and supervision, Davis Home provides all meals and snacks, laundry and housekeeping service, and medication management. All residents have private or semi-private bedroom areas and share common rooms, such as, living areas, sitting areas, and the dining room. We serve our meals “family style” and our staff eat along with the residents. A registered nurse and licensed practical nurse are available either on-site or via telephone at all times to provide nursing overview and manage the residents health care needs. Our nurses work closely with all of the residents’ health care providers. All rooms at Davis Home are equipped with a 24 hour call system with a button to alert staff of emergencies and illness. There is also awake staff for safety and security round the clock. We have an “open door” atmosphere, all visitors are welcome to stop by anytime, even enjoy a meal with us. Transportation: Davis Home provides transportation to and from medical appointments up to four times per month and up to 20 miles one-way. Charges may apply for exceeding the number of trips per month or the number of miles. Pharmacy: Davis Home has a contract with a pharmacy that specializes in long term care. Medications are delivered monthly. The pharmacy ensures fast and accurate service. Social and recreational activities: A comprehensive program of social and recreational activities is available both on site and off site. Examples of the activities are: Concerts on the green, farmer’s market, apple picking, monthly themed parties, outings in the community, shopping, cards and games, arts and crafts and music. Cable TV and individual phone lines are available in every room. Please ask for more information on these services. We believe in the importance of animals in the lives of our residents. We have a cockapoo Winston who is not only entertaining but loving and gentle. We welcome friends and family to bring pets to visit!
