Situated on a gorgeous, private acre, Dogwood Home is a one-story, ranch-style, 3000 square foot community located in the suburban Fairfield County neighborhood of Shelton, CT. The Dogwood Home Specializes in Memory Care. Whatever stage of memory loss your senior may be experiencing, rest-assured that our caretakers are well-trained in Dementia and Alzheimer’s memory issues and are extremely warm, embracing, loving, patient and kind. Your senior can age-in-place at the Dogwood Home-as we provide 24-hour care and assistance with eating, dressing, medicine, bathing, personal hygiene, housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and daily interaction with engaging activities. We offer a personal touch to each resident’s needs and work with the senior, their family members and health practitioners to create the right plan of care for each resident. Our community is truly a family, consisting of six seniors who live in private, furnished rooms with private bathrooms. This allows for a peaceful family environment. In our custom-built home, each senior has a private bedroom that is tastefully decorated and appointed with an adjustable bed, as well as a large bathroom with a roll-in “stepless” shower. We even have a walk-in whirlpool tub with a seat for those who enjoy a good therapeutic soak. The formal living room has a piano for sing-a-longs and cozy fireplace. Our dining room is intimate, where guests are encouraged to break bread with us. A beautiful, sun-drenched den is where the seniors congregate, do arts and crafts, puzzles, brain games, daily exercise and watch movies together, and more. We have an on-site hair salon, so our seniors can have their hair cut or styled right at home. We welcome anytime. This is your loved one’s home.
